About Dental Implants
Implant dentistry is a long-lasting and effective solution for replacing one lost tooth or several for a attractive smile. MINT dentistry is happy to offer custom-made dental implants and restorations for our patients in Lake Worth, TX to help them achieve a radiant smile that functions and feels like their own teeth. An implant is a post that is placed in your jaw (performed by one of our board-certified oral surgeons) to mimic the natural root of your tooth. The implanted post or posts can then be attached to a restoration (crown, bridge, or dentures) that is natural looking and lasts for years. To replace one or more teeth, make an appointment for a consultation at MINT dentistry in Lake Worth, TX. During this appointment at our state-of-the-art dental practice, you will learn about our mission to help you reach your cosmetic goals while restoring ideal oral health.
All-On-4® Dental Implants
One of the most popular brands, All-on-4® made by Nobel Biocare®, offers a comprehensive full-arch restoration with custom dentures. This process works by inserting the screws (dental implants) at strategic points on each arch. Compared to other brands of implanted dentures, All-on-4® offers a better fit with as few as four posts. We recommend All-on-4® implants for patients who are looking for a beautifully restored smile without the restrictions or hassles of traditional dentures. A lot of MINT patients have reaped the benefits of the advanced All-on-4® procedure with amazing, high-quality results. If you'd like to learn about the advantages of All-on-4® implants and custom dentures, we encourage you to schedule an appointment.
Reviews
Best Candidates for Dental Implants
Our team often uses a crown, bridge, or denture supported by implants to replace a missing tooth or teeth. You may be a good candidate for a dental implant or All-on-4® implants if you already have a traditional restoration but are unhappy with dietary restrictions, maintenance, or its general appearance. During your implant consultation, we will examine your jawbone and gums to determine if you're able to receive an implant. You may not be a candidate for dental implants if you suffer from gum disease, use tobacco, or are currently pregnant.
What to Expect
During your consultation, your MINT dentistry team will decide if you need jawbone or gum grafting. If you do, those will be completed beforehand. As soon as your mouth is ready for implants, our team will schedule your oral surgery to place the implant post(s). To begin your implant surgery, our staff will show you to the procedure room so you can begin to relax in the massaging treatment chair where you will be given a pair of MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones. Once you are settled in, your anesthesia or sedation will be administered. Then, one of our board-certified oral surgeons will make the needed incision(s) in your mouth and place the titanium post(s) into your jaw. This process will be repeated if more than one implant is needed. Finally, your doctor will close your gums around the implant, leaving the post visible above the gumline. During the next several months, the implant(s) will start to integrate with your gums and jawbone. During this time, a temporary restoration will be placed to hide and protect the post(s). Once your mouth has healed, our team will connect your custom crown, bridge, or denture to the post(s) so you can begin to enjoy your newly restored smile.
Treatment Aftercare
Due to the nature of the surgery, you will likely have a bit of inflammation in your mouth and lower face along with possible bruising, discomfort, and bleeding. These symptoms are normally mild to moderate and temporary, but please contact us if your symptoms last too long or seem abnormal. We may write you a prescription for pain medications and antibiotics in addition to detailed aftercare instructions, including dietary recommendations, to help you recover smoothly. As soon as your implant(s) has integrated and your restoration has been attached, you need to follow a good home oral care routine, which includes flossing and brushing your teeth twice a day. You may be asked to schedule follow-up appointments that will allow us a chance to check and adjust your restoration. MINT dentistry encourages you to continue scheduling annual dental exams and biannual cleanings to maintain the health and appearance of your restorations and natural teeth for a long time.
The MINT Commitment
If you have dental insurance, part of the cost of your oral surgery and restoration may be covered. A member of our finance team will speak to your insurance provider to determine your policy and calculate your remaining bill. In your initial consultation with the doctor, we can discuss which payment methods our office accepts and we can give you information on medical financing. At MINT dentistry, we are committed to making sure all our patients have a luminous smile. If you don't have insurance, ask your dentist for more information on the MINT Discount Plan, which makes it easier to afford regular dental care and restorative treatments.
